Christmas record for Yodel

Yodel says it delivered more than  20 million parcels in the run-up to Christmas – reflecting the rise in online shopping. The figure compares to 12.8m parcels delivered between the 1st and 24th of December last year which was affected by bad weather. It is also higher than 2009 when the company delivered 14..5m parcels. OBE for road haulage leader

Tough new standards for London’s Low Emission Zone

Rhenus gets go-ahead for Wincanton deal

The European Commission has approved the proposed acquisition of the Wincanton’s continental business by German company Rhenus, saying it did not raise competition concerns. Wincanton announced that it was selling all its remaining continental businesses to Rhenus for £38 million in August. Rhenus will also take over responsibility for a pension deficit of £26m. Dutch Post Office intercepts counterfeit stamps

PostNL has intercepted a large series of counterfeit postage stamps offered through public web sites for a price well under face value. It reckons the counterfeits could have cost several million euro in damage.
