Vosa open 300th ATF in Plymouth

  • By Ashleigh Wight

Vosa has opened its 300th authorised testing facility (ATF) in Plymouth, three years after its testing transformation programme began.

The ATF was opened at Volvo parts supplier and service depot Stuarts Truck Bus on Wednesday (9 January).

Vosa chief executive Alistair Peoples said: “ATFs offer a number of benefits. For most of those getting vehicles tested, it means a shorter distance to travel meaning less downtime for vehicles and employees as well as savings on fuel costs. And where vehicles are tested at the site of maintenance, you also tend to see a higher first-time pass rate.”

Vosa opened its first ATF in January 2010 and now 55% of vehicle tests take place at a non-Vosa site.

Ross Stuart from Stuarts Truck Bus said: “We are pleased to open the 300th ATF at our Plymouth depot and to begin a new working partnership with Vosa .This is a large investment for us, but we see it as a way forward to enhance our customer support for Volvo operators and also expand the all makes repair, maintenance and parts side of our business.”
