AW Transport remains in liquidation after nearly six years

AW Transport remains in liquidation nearly six years after its collapse in 2007, still owing money to non-preferential creditors.

The Bedfordshire-based firm, which had an O-licence to run five vehicles before it appointed liquidators at SPW Poppleton Appleby in 2007, owed creditors an estimated £2,257,324.

It appointed liquidator Mike Solomons of SPW Poppleton Appleby on 21 November 2007 to handle the winding-up of the company. Myles Jacobson of Streets SPW took over as liquidator on 11 December 2012.

The liquidator confirmed that the company was still being liquidated and all preferential creditors had received their money.

It still owes £7,500 to sister company AW Commercials and Logistics, which went into liquidation in 2009, when it owed creditors nearly £150,000. It had an O-licence to run eight vehicles and five trailers.
