The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) has recognised four industry figures for their work to ensure deliveries continued to run smoothly during the London 2012 Olympic Games.

The Freight Transport Association’s head of policy for London, Natalie Chapman; the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games head of logistics Mick Wright; western traffic commissioner Sarah Bell; and Transport for London (TfL) road freight programme manager Ian Wainwright all received a special award for their “outstanding contribution to the efficient operation of freight and logistics during the Games”.

The awards were presented by TfL commissioner Peter Hendy and CILT president Graham Inglis at the CILT Annual Awards for Excellence this week.

FTA’s Chapman said: “Working on the Games preparations was an extraordinary experience and the succesful outcome would not have been possible without the outstanding contribution and dedication of the freight industry.”
