Mercedes-Benz has revealed its new generation Euro-6 construction truck will be called Arocs.

Following hard on the heels of its New Actros tractors and Antos distribution trucks, Arocs will make its official public debut at Bauma, the major German construction trade fair next April.

Mercedes’ forthcoming construction truck line-up will consist of two, three, and four-axle models (including both tractors and rigids) developed specifically for regular tipper, heavy-duty dump-truck, cement-mixer and construction-site delivery vehicle jobs.Arocs

Arocs will come with 16 power ratings from 238hp-625hp and torque outputs of up to 3,000Nm, provided by no-less than four Euro-6 engines of either 7.7, 10.7, 12.8 and 15.6-litres – with the largest displacement diesel being the completely-new OM 473 straight-six engine.

All Arocs models will be fitted with Mercedes’ PowerShift 3 automated transmission as standard, with the two-pedal box featuring drive programs specifically-developed for the vehicles’ varied on/off-road applications.

Arocs will be offered with a choice of seven cabs, available in 14 different versions. In addition to compact 2.3m wide cabs in L, M or S versions, it can also be specced with a 2.5m wide cabin with a flat floor.
