Dixons receives more than 50 enquiries about franchisee delivery scheme

Dixons Retail remains on the hunt for own-drivers and small operators to become franchisees for its Knowhow delivery service, following the start of a nationwide recruitment drive last year.

The electrical retailer said it has received more than 50 enquiries from O-licence holders since it began its search in September 2011. However, it is still keen to hear from potential franchisees that have held an O-licence for “preferably no less than three” vehicles.

“We’re building a fantastic team and a great, market-leading reputation at Knowhow and we’re still on the look-out for potential franchise operators with a passion for customer service,” said Chris Georgiou, head of transport operations at Knowhow Home Services.

Successful applicants will deliver and install products for Dixons’ high street chains, including PC World and Currys, as part of its Knowhow delivery arm. Core vehicles will be supplied by Knowhow, ranging from 3.5 to 7 tonnes, but additional vehicles will be expected to be provided by franchisees.

Payment is in the form of an annual fee based on deliveries made in an assigned sector, as well as a fixed-drop rate depending on each delivery type and the option fo a tragt-driven bonus.
