Cartwright designs a box trailer/curtainsider combo

Manufacturer Cartwright has designed a new trailer for moving tyres, which offers to combine the loading capabilities of a box trailer and a curtainsider.

Following a request from County Tyres for a trailer that could transport loose tyres and stillages, as well as offer the flexibility of a curtainsider, Cartwright used its Cheetah design as a base, and incorporated four sliding posts per side, each with 20 wooden slats.

Bob Pope, technical sales manager at Cartwright, says: “With County Tyres looking to transport tyres all over the country, including from its Bristol HQ to its branch in Falkirk, we chose the Cheetah system in order to reduce the running costs over the high mileages.”

Matthew Martin, group transport fleet manager at County Tyres, adds: “We were looking for a cross between a box trailer and a curtainsider, so we would have the best of both worlds. We were delighted with the service from Cartwright and the trailer itself is fantastic. A great British design that is British-built and it is an asset for our business.”
