Brian Prescott acquires Roe Green Transport

Manchester-based haulier Brian Prescott has acquired Roe Green Transport after its director retired and decided to sell up.

Prescott boss Mike Prescott says it now plans to build up the firm, which operated six vehicles out of a Little Hulton operating centre and was established in 1978.

“They do similar work to us, including a lot of ADR work,” he says. “Their fleet is all rigid vehicles with tail lifts.

“There will be no job losses; all the drivers have moved across with us including Ruth Hannah and Paul Morrison, the daughter and son of Alan Morrison, the former director of Roe Green, who after many years of building up the business has decided to retire.”

Prescott adds: “We hope to build the business up further by offering the existing customers the facility of using our artics as well as the rigid vehicles already used.”

Tom Eatough of KBS Corporate, who helped facilitate the deal, says: “I expect the acquisition will provide Brian Prescott with the foundation to further expand their customer base throughout the UK. I would like to wish Brian Prescott and our client the best of luck in their respective futures.”

The sum was undisclosed.
