Tip-ex is just over a week away and tipper and bulk transport operators have many reasons to attend the event.

New for 2012 is the Edbro Outdoor Arena, displaying an array of Edbro products and bodybuilders the company works in partnership with, including Aliweld, Hartal Bodies and Massey Truck Engineering.

Making its debut at Tip-ex will be Thompsons.  As well as a display in the Edbro Outdoor Arena, Thompsons will have its own stand with a large number of vehicles on show, including a MAN TGM 26.340 6×4 tipper grab fitted with an all-steel Loadmaster multi-purpose tipping body, a Binotto underfloor tipping gear and an Epsilon M125 ‘Classic’ crane complete with rotating Kinshofer bucket.

Wilcox will show a planksided bulk tipping trailer, mounted on a Mk3 lightweight Montracon chassis, fitted with DCA disc-braked axles, top eye mounted tipping rams, Vishay PM Onboard weigher and Dawbarn Standard manual rollover sheet.

Feldbinder UK will have three new tankers: a special 60m3 silo tipping tank for the transport of foodstuffs, a highly specified general purpose 60m3 silo tipping tank, and a new FFB lightweight silo tanker for transport of cement, which boasts new safety features.

Hyva will unveil its range of UMB underfloor tipping gears, suitable for tippers up to 32 tonnes gvw.

Harsh will exhibit new heavy duty front end tipping gear, the Roll ‘n’ Go sheeting system, and a T-Range skiploader and Skip-Flip sheeting system.

Visitors interested in weighing systems can see Barry Napper Co showcasing its Stability Weigh – a fully integrated weighing instrument and inclinometer. Bowmonk will demonstrate Smart Scale, the only wireless on-board scale for commercial vehicles.

Avery Weigh-Tronix’s latest product, SureWeigh, is the first skip-weighing system approved by the UK Weights Measures authority and allows skip hire firms the increased flexibility of charging for waste by weight as well as by load.

Other highlights include Amber Valley Developments, which will be exhibiting its Ecotalking Alarm, programmable with any message, and Alarmalights, an alarm and light combined into one single unit, completely encapsulated against mud, water and vibration.

* Commercial Motor’s official Tip-ex showguide will appear in its 17 May edition.

* Ensure you’re on the right side of the law by attending the Commercial Motor Legal Seminar on 25 May at Tip-Ex
