Lincolnshire haulage company Mason Brothers Transport has appeared in court to face nearly 100 charges relating to driver records and tachographs.

The DVSA said the allegations are aiding, abetting, counselling and procuring individuals to make false tacho and driver card entries and failing to record data on recording equipment, tachographs or driver cards.

The 97 alleged offences date from between October 2011 and March 2012.

The enforcement agency also confirmed that six employed drivers – three from Boston, one from Tamworth, one from Spalding and one from Bridlington in East Yorkshire – are being charged separately with between six and 10 offences.

The spokesman added: “The individuals face allegations, including making false tachograph and driver card entries and failing to make entries.

“The company and the individuals are due to enter pleas at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on September 8.”
DVSA records show that the company has a licence authorising 56 vehicles and 155 trailers out of a Boston depot.
