Scania dealership TruckEast has appointed Harley Coulson as sales director, replacing David Hall.

Coulson (pictured above) has been promoted from regional general manager. He completed his apprenticeship with Scania franchisee KM Vehicle Repairs in King’s Lynn and then became part of Ro-Truck after it acquired KM in 1997.

He became depot manager at King’s Lynn and in 2006, following the formation of TruckEast from Ro-Truck and Derek Jones Commercials, he took on added responsibility for Ely and Peterborough.

In October 2011, following a restructure, he was appointed regional general manager and added a fourth site to his remit: TruckEast Corby.

Hall will remain as a board director, working with key accountants and focusing on niche market activities.

In 1984 he joined Peter Brown Daf, then moved to Gerald White Group MAN VW before joining Derek Jones Commercials in 1989. He worked his way up through the sales department and was appointed sales director in 1995, a position he retained when TruckEast was formed.

TruckEast MD John Biggin said: “I am delighted that we have been able to fill this position internally, and also that we will continue to have David’s valuable input for many years to come.

“I have no doubt that the new sales department will continue its path of growth and success in the coming years under Harley’s leadership.”

Mark Cox, former depot manager of TruckEast King’s Lynn, takes over as regional general manager for King’s Lynn, Ely and Peterborough. TruckEast Corby will become part of the Northamptonshire region, led by regional general manager Gary Trainor.
