Swissport and Transaero Airlines sign global strategic partnership agreement

Swissport International (Swissport), provider of ground and cargo handling services to the aviation industry, and Transaero Airlines (Transaero), the second largest Russian carrier, have signed a five-year Global Framework Agreement for worldwide ground handling services.

Swissport received the “Preferred Supplier” status from Transaero. Both companies are looking forward to jointly expanding their global network.

Currently Transaero Airlines offers services on 200 domestic and international routes in Russia, Europe, Asia, the Americas and Africa.

Swissport and Transaero are interested in establishing a long-term global strategic relationship for ground handling services. The main focus of the “Preferred Supplier” and “Preferred Customer” cooperation lies on worldwide coverage of handling activities of Transaero business and leisure traffic, where both Transaero and Swissport will benefit from jointly expanding their global network. The signed agreement is setting the course for a cooperation based on highest quality and safety standards and top services.

Olga Pleshakova, Transaero Airlines CEO, said: “We are convinced that Swissport International is a reliable partner for establishing a long-term global strategic relationship. This cooperation will contribute to further enhancing the quality of ground handling services offered to Transaero’s passengers. Transaero has always paid particular attention to this matter.”

Per H. Utnegaard, Group President CEO of Swissport International: “Awarded as Transaero’s “Preferred Supplier”, we are certain that Swissport will highly profit from this cooperation on a global scale. For our part, we will make sure to always provide top services for the flights operated by Transaero. We are looking forward to jointly expanding our network.”

Transaero is known for its focus on innovation . It was the first private airline in Russia, the first carrier in Russia and the CIS to add Boeing-made aircraft to its fleet, to introduce a frequent-flyer loyalty program in Russia, and the first Russian carrier to provide broadband Internet access onboard. Currently, Transaero is the only Russian airline to provide first Imperial class services and to offer an option of five classes of onboard service.
