The board of Skills for Logistics (SfL) has appointed Dr Ross Moloney (pictured) as permanent chief executive at the organisation.

Since being appointed acting chief executive in September 2013, following the departure of previous boss Mick Jackson, Moloney has been working to drive forward key projects.

These include work on the Logistics Guild Credit Union, Certificate to Work, the Military Work Placement Scheme, the Skills Calculator, the Professional Development Stairway, Local Logistics Community Networks (LLCNS) and relationships with Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).

Moloney said: “It has been a busy but tremendously fulfilling time since taking on this role in September, which I look forward to building on.

“SfL is currently developing ideas around apprenticeships, traineeships and Driver CPC.

“As before, we will be presenting these schemes to the sector to gain support. Our role as enabler and commissioning agent is to seek funding for these, and other key schemes.”
