An HGV driver found to be more than three times over the drink drive limit has received a 12-week suspended sentence.

Police received three reports on 14 March at around 1.30pm from concerned motorists on the M25 about a lorry being driven dangerously.

Officers from the Surrey Road’s Policing Unit stopped the vehicle near junction 8 (Reigate) and gave Lithuanian driver Marcus Pilitauskas a breath test.

He gave a reading of 116 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath, with the legal limit being 35 micrograms.
The 35-year-old driver was arrested and remanded.

Pilitauskas pleaded guilty to drink-driving at Redhill Magistrates on 15 March and in addition to his suspended sentence he was banned from driving for 30 months and ordered to pay £80 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.
