The business and assets of Cumbrian haulier Dent Co, which went into administration last month, have been sold to another company.

Dent Logistics bought the failed business and its assets on 19 February, a day after Dent Co entered administration.

Dent Co, which also traded as Dent Company, was authorised to run 22 vehicles and 24 trailers from a site in Penrith.

An application for an O-licence made by Dent Logistics, a company that was incorporated in January, is currently in progress.

Administrator Joe McLean at Grant Thornton confirmed that he was appointed by the company on 18 February.

McLean said: “On 19 February 2014, the haulage business and assets of Dent Co were sold to Dent Logistics Limited, preserving the employment of all 72 employees.

“The business sale was arranged in such a fashion as to ensure the seamless continuation of supply of haulage services to the business’s customers.”

A spokeswoman for Grant Thornton could not confirm if the sale was a pre-pack.

Dent Co acted as the haulage arm for pig farming business Dent Limited, which also went into administration in December.

Dent Logistics director Fiona Cannon could not be reached for comment.
