Farrall’s to boost turnover to £8m through expansion

Edwin C Farrall has revealed its plans to boost turnover by nearly a third from £6.2m to £8m in 2014 following a string of new contract wins in the past 12 months.

The Chester-based family firm, which is a founding member of the Palletforce network covering postcodes across Cheshire and north Wales, has also secured a £650,000 finance package with HSBC, allowing it to expand its fleet by 13 trucks and 10 trailers, as well as install a brand-new warehouse management system for its Ashton and Deeside facilities.

IT and Marketing Manager Matt Farrall said: “We are undertaking a period of expansion  on  the  back  of a number of recent contract wins. Our vehicles operate  throughout the UK and our customers value the quality service they receive  from a family-run business. We have also experienced growth in the warehousing  side of the business and are confident that the upgrade to the new management system will drive greater efficiencies as we take service to the next level.”

The company operates a joint venture with Lancashire-based Fagan Whalley, called FFW, which has recently secured the distribution contract for insulation manufacturer Knauf, and in November 2011, won a £10m deal to be the sole pallet network provider for Dandy’s Rock Salt.
