Police in Scotland are investigating a case of alleged fraud against international haulage and freight forwarding firm RA Executive Freight.

Managing director Richard Allan declined to comment on the situation, but it has been refered to a national fraud reporting centre.

A local newspaper report said that the fraud may have been committed via a phone call scam to the firm, which has a licence to operate eight LGVs out of a Dyce, Aberdeen operating centre.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland told Commercialmotor.com that the RA Executive Freight incidents were reported on 17 September and were committed between the 4 and 17 September.

She added: “The nature of the complaint is fraud and enquiries are ongoing.”

A Metropolitan Police spokesman added that the case had been reported to national fraud reporting centre, Action Fraud.

Auction houses and truck dealers have recently complained about criminals targeting their sector with a host of email-related scams in an effort to defraud them of money.
