ND buys 153 Cartwright trailers for Carlsberg contract

Norbert Dentressangle is investing in 153 Cartwright-built trailers for its Carlsberg contract.

The multi-million pound investment will see the operator bring a new Carlsberg-liveried trailer fleet into its primary distribution operation.

The trailers are expected to maximise payload, due to their lightweight construction, and are fitted with front and rear air management equipment.

They will also feature Cartwright’s Safeside curtains for unrestrained loads, as well as a new load restraint system to allow various load heights and sizes to be secured using rave to rave strapping.

Head of fleet for Norbert Dentressangle Logistics UK, Mark Callow, said: “We continue to invest in the latest equipment in order to deliver the best possible service to our customers, as well as reducing fuel consumption and the associated impact of our activities on the environment.”

ND is responsible for all of the drinks manufacturer’s UK primary distribution and moves items such as cans, bottles, kegs and finished product out of its Northampton brewery.

The contract also covers the management of Carlsberg’s NDC, also in Northampton, and the receipt, sorting and inspection of empty kegs.
