Brian Yeardley Continental turnaround continues

Yorkshire haulage firm Brian Yeardley Continental says it increased turnover and profits in 2011 by continuously providing a “hassle-free service” to its customers.

According to its summary accounts the Featherstone firm reported a turnover of £8.7m to the year ending 31 December, with a profit before dividends and tax of £193,000.

This compares with profits of £128,000 in 2010 and £101,000 in 2009.

MD Kevin Hopper says the £1.8m increase in turnover compared with 2010 is mainly due to existing business, as well as investments in its staff and technology.

However, he says two new contracts gained in September 2011 will help push turnover to between £10.5m and £11m during 2012.

“Our continued success is based on our company ethic of providing a quality reliable service to our customers,” he says. “It’s not about being cheap it’s about being realistic and doing what you say you can do and delivering a hassle-free service, not once but every time you work for someone.

“We have invested heavily in quality with regards to the standards we work to: people, IT and equipment and we pride ourselves on our reputation brand and image.”

In 2010 Brian Yeardley Continental revealed it had returned to profit after making pre-tax losses of £104,000 the previous year.
