Hauliers urged to plan for London and Surrey cycle event disruption

Transport for London (TfL) is urging all operators with deliveries across Surrey and east, central and south west London this weekend to plan carefully and make alternative arrangements if possible, as they may be affected by road closures.

A number of roads and bridges will be closed from 4am on both Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 August to make way for the Prudential RideLondon cycling event.

Roads in Westminster and the City of London will be affected on Saturday, while both Westminster and Southwark bridge will be closed between 4am and 6pm. Road closures in and around St James’ Park will be implemented from 6am and will remain closed until the cyclists pass.

On Sunday, a 140-mile route throughout east, central and south west London, as well as a large part of Surrey will be closed until the event is over.

If making deliveries in the affected areas, hauliers are reminded to take extra care and expect delays as there will be a significant amount of cyclists and pedestrians sharing the roads.

Please visit the TfL website for a full list of road closures.
