Eddie Stobart set to operate from former Dodds Group site

Eddie Stobart has requested authorisation to park up to 30 vehicles and 30 trailers at the former Dodds Group site in Sittingbourne.

Dodds collapsed into adminstration in August 2011, with it subsequently revealed that it did not have enough money to pay its creditors.

However, rather than a return of sorts for the well known haulier, which was headed by Jim Dodd before the business’s sale in May 2011 to Swedish businessman Frederik Helander, a spokesman for Stobart Group said the move was a purely practical one.

“The group needed somewhere to park up overnight additional vehicles attached to its Biomass business,” he told

Stobart Group recently struck a deal alongside partner AW Jenkinson for 110 STAS moving floor trailers, with its share of the order to be used within its Biomass division.
